The addition of Stuart Baggish to the MWR Legal team as
Senior Counsel brings new depth to the firm’s litigation and Outsourced General
Counsel programs. Mr. Baggish is an
excellent communicator and reliable resource for assessing the ROI potentially available
through litigation, and guides the firm’s clients as to whether an aggressive
approach is likely to produce the desired objectives in their case. Mr. Baggish most recently practiced with Richie
& Gueringer, P.C., where he worked with a team to successfully persuade the
United States Supreme Court that the National Labor Relations Board had
overstepped the bounds of its authority, resulting in President Obama
appointing an additional interim director to the NLRB. Prior to that, Mr. Baggish served as General Counsel to the Inc.
Magazine 500 high-growth startup New Era Publishing, Inc., working directly
with the Board of Directors in order to advise on business operations and
logistical planning. In this role Mr.
Baggish managed contract negotiations, due diligence and drafting for sales,
commercial leases, secured transactions, E-Commerce, import/export, customs,
trade regulation, taxation, licensing and permits, and OSHA and environmental
compliance. Stuart Baggish’s experience in this fast paced
entrepreneurial venture is directly relevant to MWR Legal clients, who are often
in growth phase themselves. Mr. Baggish
understands that for a young company, each expenditure is critical to the
bottom line, and he works with MWR Legal clients to negotiate beneficial
contracts and to find improved efficiencies through corporate, employment &
tax review. Prior to New Era Publishing, Stuart served as a litigator at
Parker Mills & Patel and at Katten Muchin Rosenman in Los Angeles,
California, where he obtained a $1.25 million jury verdict in a construction
defect/professional liability trial, litigated complex international securities
fraud, as well as studio-side entertainment litigation in the television, film
and music production, recording and distribution industries. Mr. Baggish also handled complex construction
disputes involving public bids, government contracting, environmental health
and workplace safety, suretyship and bankruptcy. Mr. Baggish has represented multiple Fortune 500 clients, as
well as growing his own law firm practice.
He is an experienced litigator and a valuable asset to MWR Legal
clients. Mr. Baggish received his J.D.
