Racy Haddad Gordon is an invaluable addition to the MWR Legal team, an experienced Senior Counsel with a broad base of experience in Real Estate, Litigation, and Corporate Law.  Ms. Gordon brings a powerful skill set to bear on the range of issues MWR Legal clients may face; she excels at evaluating complex litigation cases for our clients and offers a keen insight into the return on investment that can be expected from complicated legal situations and actions.

Racy understands the importance of ROI for emerging and high growth companies thanks to her past experience growing both her own real estate company and her own law firm to over a million dollars in annual earnings.  Her immense success in her own businesses translates to a genuine value proposition for MWR Legal clients, who receive the benefit of guidance from a former real estate professional, a talented litigator and attorney, and a CEO focused on business profitability.

Ms. Gordon brings a new level of depth to the MWR Legal practice in the areas of commercial and residential real estate transactions, real estate and construction law, real estate and commercial litigation, title work, and employer’s employment law and litigation.

Prior to joining MWR Legal, Ms. Gordon practiced all areas of real estate and construction law, and has handled complex cases involving brokerage, zoning issues, commercial leases, non-performance and contract remedies, and liens and litigation pursuant to the Texas Property Code.  Racy Gordon is an approved Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) legal/ethics instructor by the Texas Real Estate Commission.

While successfully building a firm from the ground up in Lubbock, Texas, Ms. Gordon managed all facets of a multi-disciplinary civil practice law firm, practicing business law, real estate law, construction law,  and employment law.  Her extensive background in real estate proved invaluable when negotiating contract disputes, representing construction and major development projects, and representing parties in real estate litigation and brokerage disputes.  As an entrepreneur and business owner, she was responsible for staffing, payroll, and managing the day to day administrative operations of the firm.

Racy again proved her ability to grow a practice when she supported the Houston firm Spain Hastings Ward Carey & Chambers in its efforts to foster an Austin branch in 2006.  Over a two year period she developed a book of new business for the firm worth over $1.5 million and equaling a significant percentage of the total firm revenue.  During this period she supervised the advanced drafting of promissory notes, security agreements, warranty deeds, deeds of trust, affidavits, and mechanic’s and materialmen’s liens.  She developed a high profile practice related to real estate development with an emphasis on getting a deal done properly.  

Ms. Gordon has managed multi-million dollar construction projects, negotiated and litigated complex real estate disputes, and grown several businesses in her career to date.  She provides MWR Legal clients with a proven resource in real estate and construction law, critical in many growth stage ventures.

Racy Gordon is a member of the State Bar of Texas and Austin Bar Association and is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court as well as the Northern District of Texas.  She received her J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law in 2003 following a 15 year career as a senior real estate executive.  Prior to that she earned a B.S. Degree in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin, where she has returned to practice law.
